DIUS gears funding for knowledge transfer

Welcome to Action Track 2, one of the outcomes of the High Impact University Business, Enterprise and Innovation Workshop held on 18th December 2007. The High Impact University Business and Industry Community (HIUBI), has been launched to enable the Workshop participants to continue to work together to create more knowledge-based businesses and the four Action Tracks will drive this.
Action Track 2 will focus on the opportunities to increase, facilitate and enhance university practitioner and professional self-learning. It will:
- provide details of training and education opportunities for university professionals on the NCGE Education community site through direct links and RSS feeds on the High Impact University Business and Industry (HIUBI) Action Tracker
- offer, as part of the High Impact University Business and Industry (HIUBI) Action Tracker, an ‘expert’s advice’ facility where university professionals can seek help and advice from other universities and industry

Training and education opportunities for university professionals

But how can you identify relevant events taking place? A good place to start is with the Events listings provided by the NCGE Education Community, AURIL, the HEA, the IKT, Praxis, UKBI and UNICO.
The White Rose CETLE (Centre for Excellence in the Teaching and Learning of Enterprise) recently launched the UK National Enterprise Events Database (UKNEED); this includes student events as well as practitioner events. Finally, the HERO website has some suggestions for additional ways to track down Conferences and seminars.
