Dr. Phil Clare, UNICO Board Member, Head of Contracts, Research Services, University of OxfordPhil Clare is Associate Director of Research Services at Oxford, and his principal areas of responsibility are research contracts, training, and intellectual property so he spends quite a lot of time working with Isis Innovation Ltd, the University's technology transfer arm. He has previously worked at the University's of Bath and Bournemouth in a variety of roles covering the whole gamut from research grants to technology licensing. He is Chair-Elect of Unico, sits on the Programme Committee of Praxis, and spent six years on the ARMA committee.

Ashley Malster, Assistant Director of Knowledge Transfer Policy and Programmes, Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS)Ashley Malster leads on University Knowledge Transfer Policy in the new Department for Innovation Universities and Skills where his responsibilities include the Higher Education Innovation Fund. Ashley recently assisted with the group chaired by Peter Saraga which produced the ‘Streamlining University/Business Collaboration’ report. Ashley has held a number of business-facing roles in the Civil Service ranging from competition policy to energy regulation and recently completed an MBA at the Judge Business School, Cambridge.Dr. Ceri Williams, Head of Knowledge Transfer, Yorkshire UniversitiesDr Ceri Williams has worked on both sides of the Knowledge Transfer interface and for the past five years led the Science and Innovation agenda for Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency for Yorkshire and the Humber. She is currently employed as Director Knowledge Transfer for Yorkshire Universities where she aims to help regional HEIs deliver more effective knowledge transfer practice and also better align regional research activities with national funding priorities. She has a personal interest in understanding and evaluating knowledge transfer practice and the metrics that can be used to assess effective KT.
